I adored this story. So real, so everyday, it could be about anyone you know, or even yourself. It was unusual to read an Adriana Locke book that didn’t include 5 or 6 kids, because she’s so known for her big, loud, messy families. Just because there were only 2 kids here, didn’t make it any less. It’s not often I read a romance woth the couple already married, but I always enjoy them. I loved this. It’s almost a cautionary tale of what not to do, and how to fix it if you end up in trouble. Again, this family just felt so real, I loved it.

I read book 2 and forgot to go back to read book 1 before this one, so I didn’t quite have all the back story of Cooper and Ellery before going in. This book obviously give a deep dive into their history, so it was okay. I enjoyed the few flashback parts, instead of just mentions in the present. I must admit, I was behind Cooper the entire way. I had a hard time seeing Ellery’s point of view in the present. I’m disappointed though that this series is already over. I’m not used to reading this short of a series. I know these authors have a pretty decent back list for me to catch up on, but I guess I wasn’t ready to move on. I was hoping to see an extended epilogue of how the 3 couples are in 5-10 years time.

I love all things Meghan Quinn. I didn’t want to feel rushed, so I turned my ticker off on my kindle when I saw how long it was. I just wanted to enjoy every moment, every scene without thinking about how much was left. I must admit, even though it took me longer to read than a book usually does, I was sad to get to the end. This is book 2 in Almond Bay, and you definitely want to read book one. You fall in love with the small town first, and all its quirky characters second. I have a terrible memory when it comes to books, but there were so many little reminders of other MQ books. I’m sure there were some I missed, but there was Runaway Groomsmen, all the way back to Two Wedding Crashers and The Virgin Romance Novelist. I love seeing those characters and mentions pop up here and there. It’s like a gift to her long time readers. I loved this story. I love a marriage of convenience, and although enemies to lovers is not my favorite, I loved this version. Wyatt was so likable! And for those that didn’t like Aubree from the first book, give this one a chance, because she is redeemed. You totally get her after this one. Makes me want to go back and reread the Way I Hate Him with new eyes.

I put off this book for a long time. Everyone warned me about how emotional it was, such a tear jerker, sobbing, the whole bit. Since I hate to cry, I didn’t want to put myself though it. I ended up listening to the audio of this, and yes, it was fantastic, but I didn’t actually cry (which was a relief). I can see how people would, so I get it. But I put this off for years because I was afraid. Needlessly. The audio was very well done, dual isn’t always my favorite because each narrator has their own style, and they don’t always work together. These 2 worked together well, the chapters flowed pretty seamlessly. I’m glad I decided to go for it.

Darn it this book was so good! More emotional than I expected, but these characters are just fantastic. I’ve read several books by this author so I was familiar with most of the characters. I loved Ivy, and loved how Cameron just knew how to handle her. They were just perfect for each other and his family was exactly what she never knew she needed. I will anxiously be waiting for the next book to hopefully see more of Cameron and Ivy, and see how things shake out in the new family dynamic.

Where do I even begin? This is the 3rd book of the series, it can work as a stand alone, but if you have not read books 1 and 2 you’ll miss the amazing writing skills of how the author uses the same scene (from the Thirst Trap couples wedding) to tie all the books together with different points of view. This wedding is HUGE, and trust me, you want all of it from all angles! It’s not just the wedding scene these books share either, so you for sure want to read them all, it was very well done.

Friends to lovers has always been my favorite, and I loved how this one worked itself out. How it came to be. There are as always, scenes to make you laugh out loud (sometimes just quick one liners), scenes that make you swoon, scenes that make you want to take your earrings out. I loved the interactions with the kids, all of them (Chelle Sloan writes great kids). Even the problems they had fit and made sense. Although I must say she was easier on the moms than I would have been! Of course it all works out in the end, and then we get a sneak peek of Simon’s book, and I cannot wait for it!

Chelle Sloan is a newer author compared to some of the other names I normally review, but she writes so well, I hope more people discover her books. There is always something that makes me laugh out loud, and I feel like the more her world expands, the better the stories get. All of her books are on Kindle Unlimited, so they’re nice and easy to read them all. She has about dozen books now, her first series is sports romance (the Nashville Fury) all nice and neat in a box set for your binging pleasure. I can’t imagine you won’t fall in love with her books whether you go the sports route, or the Rolling Hills small town series.
