I loved the case of mistaken identity! This was different and I enjoyed it. I’ve read a handful of books from this author, but not the full collection, so I was definitely missing some details of the characters, but it wasnt terrible. I liked Seth a lot, he was quirky but easily likable. It was odd that once they got together, there was still a lot of time left in the book, so I wasn’t sure what was going to happen. There’s no 3rd act breakup, which I had expected, and was pleasantly surprised by. I definitely want to keep reading about all of these characters.

I prefer to go into all books blind. Unfortunately I caught a couple of teasers for this one, one I really wished I didn’t know about. It didn’t affect how much I enjoyed the story, it just would have made a bigger “Holy cow” moment if I didn’t know it was coming. I definitely enjoyed the story, I loved the twists and turns and how it all came out in the end. I liked Killian a lot, couldn’t really find a flaw in him, so he was so easy to root for.

All I knew about this going in was road trip. The “loathe to love” is a new descriptor for me. As I’m not a fan of enemies to lovers, I’m glad I didn’t know this going in. I freaking loved this story. I listened to audio, in my favorite duet style. The narrators were both great and totally sucked me into the story. Didn’t plan on crying, but darn it I did cry. This book was more than just a couple on a road trip, there’s so much family stuff going on, on both sides, it was so easy to get lost in all aspects. I definitely recommend this book.

I LOVE friends to lovers, and this one played out so fun. It’s going to be a good new series, I can already tell. It’s fun, but not too fluffy. No tears were shed, but there are some more real life topics going on, ehich i definitely liked. I just adored these two, and the supporting characters have been great so far. I’m already looking forward to the next book, and more from Dallas and Shelby.

As everyone is looking back on 2025 and and being optimistic about the new year, I’m posting my stats from Goodreads. I don’t keep track anywhere else, so I just have to assume this is accurate. I read a lot of Piper Rayne this year after discovering so many of their audio books are available thru Hoopla! Audio books can get expensive, so I’m grateful to get so many free thru my library.

I don’t do reading challenges (read a book with a blue cover, or read a book for every letter of the alphabet). Honestly, my arc commitments keep me pretty busy, and a lot of the times if I find authors I like, I’ll do a re-read by way of audio if they’re available thru Hoopla. I listened to a lot of Kait Nolan again thru the library. I just love her stories, some for the 3rd or 4th time! Sometimes it’s just a comfort read when I’m having a hard time finding something new, sometimes it’s just nice background noise when you already know what’s going to happen. Other times it’s a good palate cleanser after a book hangover.

I was super sad when I flipped the page and saw epliogue! This was such a good story, Gianna is a blast, all over the place but still a bad ass, I loved her. And of course who won’t love Drake? This was a fun premise to read, I really enjoyed it. I’m already looking forward the next book in the series!
