Jennifer Millikin writes such great characters. I loved this book. 2nd chance, brothers best friend at its best. So much going on, the mixing of past and present unfolding all parts of the story. When I thought I knew the whole story, there was a bomb dropped that turned the story. I appreciated how they worked out the aftermath of it. Also, it was a nice surprise to have Hayden Ranch crossovers.

Back then? They were great together.
Now? They could be even better.

Holy cow this book! It is book 2 (Love Me Today) of a series, but it can totally work as a stand alone. I don’t feel like you’d be lost in any way if you haven’t read book 1. I loved how it was written, present day in first person, and flashbacks in 3rd person. Not something I’ve ever seen, but it helped keep the separation clean, I liked it. These 2 clearly were meant to be. All the time and obstacles, meant nothing in the grand scheme. I love how they were always drawn to each other, no matter what else was going on. So much happened, I couldn’t even believe. Shocking turns of events that stunned me. So good! I’m definitely looking forward to the next book.

I haven’t read an Adriana Locke book that I haven’t loved yet. I enjoyed it just as much listening to it as I did when I read it when it first came out.

Maxine Mitchell is amazing. she is one of my favorite narrators, and I jump to listen to her books. she does a great male voice and a really good kid voice. Tor Thom was just okay for me. it feels like he doesn’t have a good conversational flow. it’s like, sentence, hard stop. another sentence, hard stop. it doesn’t feel like natural conversation, it comes off kind of aggressive.

Last minute freebie, this was part of the stuff your ereader event, but I just now found it. Yes, it’s too early (for me) for Christmas books, but this is book 2 in a series, and book 3 will be coming out later this year.

This story was adorable! I loved how much Travis and Rory helped each other become better versions of themselves. It seemed to all fall into place so naturally. The chemistry somehow was funny and meaningful at the same time. I’ve enjoyed this series a lot and I’m happy to see there are more books coming. It’s been something different from this author, while still being tied to the Marines. Jess Mastorakos is a clean romance author, but her characters never lack chemistry, even if there are no sexy scenes. Available on Kindle Unlimited too!
