I listened to this one when I did the free audible plus trial. Corine Michaels is an author that doesn’t offer free very often, so grab this one now while you can. The whole series was really good.
Reading goals

2 years ago I started making an effort to use Goodreads to keep track of the books I read each year previously I was keeping track in a notebook, and for all the reading I do, it just got to be too much paperwork. So now I keep track of arcs on the calender on my phone (which has been much more efficient) and Goodreads for finished books. Last year before my job changed, I read 309 books, my goal was 300. Not knowing how much time I was going to have to read this year, I cut my goal in half. I’m pretty happy with the fact that it’s September and I’ve already met my annual goal! Now that I’m settled into my new job, I’m happy to find I can still squeeze a little bit of reading in. Not as much as before, but at least enough to keep my sanity! Do you set a goal? Do you keep track at all? Share your numbers and methods of organization.

For me it is way to early to be thinking about Christmas, but I can’t resist a free box set! I can’t remember if I’ve read all 3 books or not, it’s been many years since I read at least book one, and I do remember I enjoyed it. I don’t recall the heat level to report on that. But it’s free. Grab it now and hold onto it until you’re ready to dive into Christmas reading.
Another random question
I saw this posted on an author group I follow on Facebook, how do you discover new authors? A lot of people said tic tok, which I have yet to venture into, but it did make me curious how others discover new, potentially favorite go to authors. I’ve been seriously reading for I would say 6 or 7 years, so I don’t always have time to read someone new. I follow so many authors that I typically have plenty to read from their new releases. I think Claire Kingsley was probably my last author I added to my regular rotation a little over a year ago. I started with Hidden Gems and found quite a few that way, and then Bookbub gave me some more. I’m pretty sure that’s where I found Mignon Mykel, from Interference being a freebie. Over the years I’ve read and reread every single one of her books. Kait Nolan was one of my first authors I started arcing for. I came across Know Me Well I think on just a free search on Amazon and quickly started reading her back list. I’m leery to take the recommendations from people on social media because tastes can vary so much. Your favorite trope could be my least favorite, its so subjective. So tell me, how do you find new authors to read?
Look the Part – Kindle edition by Ann, Jewel E.. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

I read this book years ago after reading One by Jewel E Ann, where Flint is a side character. When I realized he had his own book, I was quick to dive in. I will admit, at the beginning of this book, I hated Flint and nearly quit reading. I don’t know what pushed me to finish, but I’m glad I did because it’s one of my favorites by this author. I read it on Kindle Unlimited, then bought it and read it again. And just recently I borrowed the audio from Hoopla and enjoyed it just as much the 3rd time around. If you give it a go, push through, don’t quit, it’s worth it.

Kait Nolan is one of my favorites. I’ve not read the other authors in this box set but I picked it up for free to check out.
O’Gallagher Nights: The Complete Series – Kindle edition by Mykel, Mignon, Wood, Jenn. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.
Little Lies – Kindle edition by Hunting, H, Hunting, Helena. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

This is the next generation from the hockey series that I believe started with A Lie for A Lie. I love the female leads name in this, Lavender. It’s so different and unique without being out there and weird. At least to me! Check it out for free today.
Fling by Adriana Locke

I loved Flirt so much, but man, these Charmichael boys, I’m going to love each and every one of them! There’s drops from other Locke books, which I just loved, Friends references, and more fun texts! I enjoyed every single word of this book. I lost track of how many times I laughed. She always manages to write these amazing families and characters, you can’t go wrong by picking up any one of her books. Friends to lovers is my favorite, and how Maddox and Ashley got themselves to the lovers part was just perfect. I loved this book!
Random thoughts
I’ve mentioned before that I read a lot of advance review copies (arcs) for several authors. I’ve been doing it for close to 10 years now, and for probably at least a dozen authors regularly, plus the occasional extras I pick up thru promotional companies or Hidden Gems, so I’m practically always reading what I call “homework” books. I’ve cut back a lot on what I’ve signed up for since my job changed this year. And now, tonight I find myself all caught up on my homework, and with the hundreds of unread books on my kindle, I’m feeling a little overwhelmed on what to read next. I’m so tempted to reread a favorite, but I have so many unread books, I feel guilty! So it brought me here to ask the question, how do you choose what to read next?
