Solid 4 1/2 stars. I read the first book of the series, but you don’t need to, but you would get more of the back story of Spark House if you do. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I like the slow build, the way their relationship didn’t go right into the physical. . The sex scenes weren’t overly graphic, but they’re there. I am definitely looking forward to the next book, hoping to see not only more of Jackson and London, but Avery and Declan too.
It’s not often that the ebook and audio come out on the same day, but I was lucky enough to get advanced copies of both thru NetGalley, I read the ebook first, then I listened about 2 weeks later to the audio. Jason Clark and Stella Bloom share narrating duties on this one. I liked both narrators, however I don’t feel like they really complimented each other. If I had to choose, I would have preferred the female do the entire book. She did most of it, which I appreciated. She just brought so much energy to London, and did a good job voicing Jackson. Not that I disliked the male narrator, I’ve heard him do other books, but his version of London was just so much more mellow, softer, almost quiet- it felt almost like she was a different character with him than her. I just feel like the female narrator did a better job with this particular story. Either way, it was just as enjoyable to read as to listen, so it’s your preferences!
