I have to admit, enemies to lovers is not my favorite. In fact, I just read one that wasn’t so great, so I was initially not anxious to start this one. But I’ve loved the other 2 books in the series, so I tried to keep an open mind. I should not have hesitated! This is why so many people love this trope. Great characters that have redeeming qualities, fun banter, and sexy times. I loved how Max slowly, almost accidentally evolved. This whole series was fun, and I can’t wait for more from this author. Solid 4 1/2 stars. I read the first book of the series, but you don’t need to, but you would get more of the back story of Spark House if you do. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. I like the slow build, the way their relationship didn’t go right into the physical. . The sex scenes weren’t overly graphic, but they’re there. I am definitely looking forward to the next book, hoping to see not only more of Jackson and London, but Avery and Declan too.

It’s not often that the ebook and audio come out on the same day, but I was lucky enough to get advanced copies of both thru NetGalley, I read the ebook first, then I listened about 2 weeks later to the audio. Jason Clark and Stella Bloom share narrating duties on this one. I liked both narrators, however I don’t feel like they really complimented each other. If I had to choose, I would have preferred the female do the entire book. She did most of it, which I appreciated. She just brought so much energy to London, and did a good job voicing Jackson. Not that I disliked the male narrator, I’ve heard him do other books, but his version of London was just so much more mellow, softer, almost quiet- it felt almost like she was a different character with him than her. I just feel like the female narrator did a better job with this particular story. Either way, it was just as enjoyable to read as to listen, so it’s your preferences!

The Mrs. Degree by Sara Ney

Second chance romances can break your heart. This one definitely did. Slight spoiler ahead. I usually hate when a guy cries, both in books and real life. That might be behind the times thinking, but there you go. For some reason in this book, Jack being emotional made me emotional. It felt real and genuine, not for the sake of a story or dramatic effect. I felt myself tear up a couple of times. But there are laughs too, it’s not all sad! Even though I hate the reason they split up, I almost understood, even if it was wrong. It’s hard to empathize when the reason is stupid or you can’t relate or justify it. Overall I enjoyed it, I’ve read 3 or 4 book now by this author and have enjoyed them all.

THE BILLIONAIRE’S GUIDE TO THE MARRIAGE DEAL

I’m into marriage of convenience lately, so even though I’ve never read this author before, this one sounded good. It was, although I had a hard time overcoming my first impression of Phoebe. She came across more dry and sarcastic in the beginning, but clearly that wasn’t her true personality. I liked Easton right away, so he was easier to get on board with. I did find it crazy how quick it all happened, but I did enjoy it.

This author is pumping this series out quick, and I love it. Too many times I forget what happened in book one months later when book 2 releases. She released the first two books this week, and the third is coming out in about 2 weeks. I enjoyed this one quite a bit. It was cute, almost silly at times, but still held plenty of sexy times. Chloe was so cute and quirky and I loved how her and Dylan brought out the best in each other in little, subtle ways. I think I liked this one more than the first, just because Chloe was so darn adorable. And Dylan seemed like a playboy jerk on the surface but Chloe brought out his true self. A fun example of opposites attract, and each balancing the other. Both books are in Kindle Unlimited for your free reading pleasure.

Every Moment With You by JE Parker

This was the authors debut novel and it packs a punch emotionally. It’s a series started, that is now complete. All books are on Kindle Unlimited, and this is one of those that has stuck with me over the years. I’ve read most of the books twice (there was a bigger gap with the release if the final book, so I did a reread of most of the books leading to it). The series covers very heavy topics of abuse, violence, things that could be disturbing, but it’s really good. There are moments of levity, it’s not all doom and gloom. Grandmama is a character and appears through the whole series.

Indescribable by Jennifer Van Wyk

This book right here is a perfect example of why friends to lovers is my favorite romance trope. I loved this book and this family so so much. I laughed out loud at so many things. I absolutely cannot wait for more! Brock and Naomi had quite the road to get to their happy ending, but I loved their outlook. Their first date was adorable, the ending, just wow. And this is just book 1 of a new series. I cannot wait for more!

There is a free prequal that I highly recommend reading before this one. It came as a free download from Prolific Works. You can get it here.
