This book had a tough beginning, in fact, it was so hard, when I did the reread I skipped it. It’s a good book, don’t get me wrong, it’s part of an amazing series, but just be warned it’s heavy subject matter. The whole series is on KU, but this book is free if you don’t have KU or just wanted to own your own copy. I own the whole series and have read several of them twice. Check it out.

The Playmaker (Prescott Brothers Book 2) – Kindle edition by Mykel, Mignon. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

https://www.amazon.com/Playmaker-Prescott-Brothers-Book-ebook/dp/B09DDF8XHR/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=playmaker+mignon+Mykel&qid=1634599258&sr=8-3I’m so glad I decided to go back and reread for the release of Butterfly Save 11/11! I knew I loved this book, but it’s been several years since I read it last, and I still loved it so much. There are sensitive subjects covered, especially if you read the prequels too. I own the old school set called Playmaker Duet, which included Troublemaker, Breakaway, Altercation and Holding. Yes it’s a lot of parts. But it’s so much story and so worth it. I did the reread in two days, and am anxious to get to the next one. The more I read and refresh myself of Mignon Mykel’s writing, the more I want to read. Check all these out on Kindle Unlimited.

Reading Order » Mignon Mykel

https://mignonmykel.com/book-shelf/reading-order/

This is from the authors site, the reading order of all of her books. Obviously if you’re prepping like me for Butterfly Save, you won’t have time to read them all in this order. I would say start with Interference, then Playmaker, then 32 Refuse to Lose. If you have time, A Holiday For the Books. You can read and appreciate the O’Gallagher’s another time. Thought this might help!

Interference by Mignon Mykel

Her final book in the series Butterfly Save is coming out in November (the magic Prescott number 11/11), so in preparation I’ve gone back to reread some of her other books in the series. This is the famous Prescott series she started writing several years ago. I originally read Interference back in 2017. I have to say it still entertained me years later. There are a few references dated with the times, but I found it amusing. I. Making sure to pay attention to names and details so I don’t forget anything once I get to Jonny’s book. Now I’m working on Playmaker, which I’ve read twice before, I loved the story so much. There will only be 3 books officially in this series, but she writes in one world, so I am hoping to have time to read the Enforcers series as well, or at least 32 Refuse to Lose

These books are in Kindle Unlimited right now, and it is hockey season!

Evil Queen Anthology

This anthology is all new to me authors except for Mignon Mykel. Her book is my sole reason for reading any of these short stories. I want to say, because I had no clue going in, but this is not a Halloween anthology, it’s not magic, or paranormal or anything fairy tale like. It’s all about strong female characters, so don’t be mislead by the title.
Elsabeth – This is part of a brand new series from Mignon Mykel, and it of course involves a hockey player. This is their meet and start to their relationship, and looks like they’ll get a full length book later on and I can’t wait. She’s one of my favorite authors, the long awaited Butterfly Save is supposed to be coming out later this year and I’m really wanting to make time to reread her Prescott books in preparation.
Nova- this was a cute, quick friends to lovers with a comic book background. Since I’ve never read anything from this author, I can only assume this goes with another series. I wasn’t lost, but it was pretty short and not overly specific.
Isla- this story came with a warning so I had no clue what to expect. I definitely wouldn’t mind reading more.
Talia – this one was about a married couple, which I enjoy. I know these are novellas, but there were a couple of parts too rushed and it threw the story off a little. It was more emotional and some people might struggle with the topic.

I enjoyed the stories I read and will go back to read more. Novellas are great at sneaking in a little escape from real life wherever you can.
