The Love Clichés by Emma St. Clair

I’ve spent the last 2 weeks or so reading thru this series. The final book was released not too long ago and I’ve seen it mentioned here and there, in reader groups and authors newsletters so I decided to give it a go. The whole series is in Kindle Unlimited, and the first 3 books are in are box set, which is great that you can load up the whole series without using up all of your KU slots. These books are all clean but they dance a fine line. No, there’s no closed door sex, but there is a whole lot of chemistry. And there are a couple of first kiss scenes that are pretty darn amazing. There are hints of swearing, but again, clean. I think it’s a great balance to not be prude like, but not offensive to those that don’t like to read anything over PG-13. Like any series, there were some books I enjoyed more than others. There is age gap, enemies to more, boss/employee, which are some of my least favorite tropes, but I loved all of the characters. And they all stay relevant with each book, no one feels forgotten about. The last book felt the longest, but in a complete the series appropriate way. I laughed all along the story, but honestly got sad at the end. I’m not spoiling, but I’m so glad she added the bonus epilogue at the end, it helped. I don’t want you to think it didn’t have a nice happy ending, but I think it stirred up some things for me personally that just made me sad. I also downloaded a little bonus scene, that as of me writing up this post, I haven’t actually read yet, but can’t wait to. I’m kind of holding on to it, because I loved these characters, and I’m not quite ready to let them go. I’ve downloaded another box set fom Emma St. Clair to read because this one was so good. I just hope it lives up to my expectations!

Yesterday’s Treasures: A Blueberry Beach Novel (Blueberry Beach Book 1) – Kindle edition by Gussman, Jessie. Religion & Spirituality Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

I’ve written about Jessie Gussman before, and another one of her books is free. This is the first book of her latest series, and it’s about a married couple. So far the rest of the series is about new couples getting together, but I do enjoy a married book every so often. As with all of her books, they are clean, and have some religion to them.

What Tears Us Down: A Single Dad Standalone Romance (Arrow Creek Book 3) – Kindle edition by Wilson, A. M.. Contemporary Romance Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

Wow. I can say I’ve not read a book quite like this before. This is not a cookie cutter romance, i did not find it predictable at all. I legit had no idea what was going to happen, how things were going to end. I read book 2 from this series and I really enjoyed it (When Morning Comes), so I jumped at the chance to read this one. There were some tears, I won’t lie. I really need to go back and read book one (since it was referenced in both books I’ve read), and I’m already anxious to read book 4. This was so emotional in ways I did not expect with a couple of twists that i didn’t see coming. It was a very good read especially if you’re looking for something a little different. Calling it a single dad romance really doesn’t do it justice, since that’s just a small part of the story.

I read this one a while back, and it’s pretty interesting. They’re all on KU but grab this one for free today.

Miles Brothers by Claire Kingsley https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07FWYQPD9?ref_=dbs_dp_wam_ser_img_widg&storeType=ebooks

As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been working my way thru Claire Kingsley’s catalog this summer. I just finished the Miles Brothers series and I just loved it. Cooper is my favorite, as soon as he made his first appearance in book one, I just adored him. His book is the 3rd, Reckless Miles, and it totally lived up to the hype. I was worried his book wasn’t going to be as good as what I had built up in my mind , but it was so good, better than I hoped . Like, one of my all time favorite books good. I’m hoping she puts these in a box set, because I’d prefer to buy it that way. I read the series over the last week or so with Kindle Unlimited, but this is one I well make time to read again one day. Cooper’s book at the very least. Totally worth checking out for free on KU.

Dreaming of Her Cowboy’s Kiss (Cowboy Mountain Christmas, Small Town Sweet Romance, Book 1) – Kindle edition by Gussman, Jessie. Religion & Spirituality Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B089G97JPG

This is book one of a series, but also a new series is spinning off of this one, it gets released I believe next week. The series follows each of the siblings who were adopted by a pastor and his wife after their parents die. It’s a sad premise to start a series, but so heartwarming to see how they all come together.

Jetty Beach Series by Claire Kingsley

I’ve been working my way thru Claire’s library (in between arc commitments) and Jetty Beach was first on the list. The first 4 books are in a box set, then books 5,6 and 7 are all separate. It’s great that she’s in Kindle Unlimited, so I can really get thru them all rather inexpensively. I feel like the series was only meant to go 4 books and then later she decided to add more. The last three books aren’t quite as connected as the first four. I still enjoyed them all, don’t get me wrong. I just started the Book Boyfriend series yesterday, and so far I just love it. It’s been light and adorable. I don’t know why I haven’t read her books before this year, but I’m just going to chalk it up to there being so many good authors out there and not enough time to read them all.

I’ve written about Jessie Gussman many times before. The first book in one of her cowboy series is free and there are a few for just .99. Better yet the whole series (and all of her books) are on Kindle Unlimited. I know not everyone is into clean romance, but I do read some every now and again. There are a few authors who I enjoy even though they keep the sexy times tame and no swearing. Jessie Gussman is one of those authors. Some of her books have religious talk in them, also a warningnfornyou because I know it’s a turn off for a lot of people. I’ve never found it to be too much or too preachy. More inspirational to me than offensive, but I know it’s all personal preference. But you can check her work out without risking any cash!
