Our Kind of Love by Kait Nolan

I love Kait Nolan, which if you’ve read any of my posts before, you know I’m kind of obsessed with her. This spin off of the Misfit Inn series is perfect for those of us that weren’t ready to say goodbye yet. The always amazing Ari makes an appearance! This story combines friends to lovers (my favorite) and second chance romance into one story. The second chance aspect is a gut punch, but this book has such a sweet happy ending. I loved it. I love the author showing that not all foster situations are bad. What Joan did for this group of kids is just inspiring.

Claire Kingsley – Romance Author

http://www.clairekingsleybooks.com/

The romance book world has been talking all about author Claire Kingsley the last few days. It’s heartbreaking. I’ve never met her, and have only read a couple of books by her before this, but my heart is aching for her and her family. Her husband, her high school sweetheart, the love of her life died today. From what I’ve read, he had a blood clot I believe in his brain that led to a massive stroke. This happened only just a couple of days ago, and today she said goodbye to the man she expected to grow old and gray with and I’m so sad for her. I have been with my husband for more than half of my life and I just can’t fathom what she’s going through. From what I’ve seen they have I believe 3 teenage children together. I currently have Kindle Unlimited right now, so it’s just and small, simple thing, but I will be reading her catalog of books. Besides saying a prayer for her and her family, there isn’t really anything else I can do, but it makes me feel like I’m doing something. Again, I’ve never met her, never even exchanged an email or a Facebook message, but the news of her husband the last couple of days has just gutted me. If you can, buy a book, or read her on Kindle Unlimited, at least it will give her some income and one less thing to think about.

Next in Line by J. Bengtsson

I hate to admit, but I’ve only read the first book in the series before this one (Cake a Love Story). I wanted to catch up before this one came out, but I procrastinated until it was too late. I will go back and read the rest, especially after how good this book was. This story was so heartbreaking, so much pain. I didn’t cry but some may. Some parts may be difficult for some people to read. It was a lot of story, and I enjoyed it so much. It was interesting to see the different point of view, what one persons thought of the same situation was totally different of others, or what was always thought to be truth. I’m not doing the best describing because I don’t want to give anything away, but Quinn was such a good character and even though Jess had her own mess, they were a perfect fit.

I’ve only read Adriana Locke’s book in this set, and I love everything she writes. Funny thing is I actually have Lucy Score’s book downloaded now from Kindle Unlimited, so I can return that for another selection! I’ve read a few books by Ilsa Madden-Mills, but not this one. There are several other authors I’ve heard of, but just haven’t had a chance to read them yet, so I’m pretty pumped to get a box set of these goodies.

I may have already posted this one the last time it was free, but I can never resist sharing a book from the Wishful Series.

Kiss Me In Italy

This was such a good read. As with the last book (Love Me in Paris) it makes me want to travel. I love the companion picture book that goes with Chloe and Max’s itinerary, but I wished it was within the pages of the book itself so I didn’t have to bounce back and forth. There are some sexy times in this book, it’s not officially clean, but they’re very tame, and not graphic at all. I enjoyed the opposite attract story, there was a lot of truth and honesty and it felt mature and real. And now I can’t wait for the next book! I’ve read quite a few books by this author, and they’re all very well written. I believe all of her stuff is on Kindle Unlimited, so she’s an easy one to check out.

For Lucy by Jewel E. Ann

This book was so addicting . I don’t read a ton of woman’s fiction, but I’ve read so many books by this author so I dove in. This book is about a divorced couple. As a married person, I find these type of books interesting in seeing what went wrong, to see if there’s anything I can learn for my own marriage. Even though it’s fiction, there are still potential lessons to be learned. This book was beautiful but heartbreaking. So emotional, so much, I didn’t want to put it down. I really liked how the story went back and forth past and present laying it out. It felt so real, and the characters were so well written, you could see both sides, you could relate to both maybe at different times, but at some point you can feel their reasoning as making perfect sense. You’ll have to read it to see what I mean. Well done.

Another free Wishful book! This is a second chance romance, and it’s sweet (not clean) and heartbreaking, but luckily has a happy ending. You’ll do best reading this if you’ve at least read the first book in the series first.

Earn Your Extra Credit by Meghan Quinn

Omg I loved this book so much! I laughed out loud so many times. Probably not a good idea to read this one in public, not to mention the sexy times are pretty amazing. I even cried a little, this book has it all. The grand gesture was so good, like one of the best, most meaningful ones I’ve read. This is up there on my list of all time favorite MQ books. Baseball is mine and my husband’s thing, what we bonded over early on, so this book probably meant more to me than it would others, but I loved it. Oh, and because the prologue in See Me After Class (the previous book in this series) gave a little away, I skipped it with this one and dove right in to chapter one, then when I was finished, I read the prologue. I recommend doing it that way, I’m glad I didn’t read the prologue first. This is the 3rd (ish) book in the series so far. First is Mr. Klein is Fine, which is a short story that was part of an anthology last year (forgive me I don’t know which one). I got a copy I believe from joining Meghan Quinn’s email list. Then book 2 was See Me After Class, which I also enjoyed, but this book was definitely my favorite of the series, and one I will end up rereading one day I’m sure.
