I’m just going to call this one friends to lovers. Because enemies to lovers is not my favorite, and honestly this one is a stretch to qualify anyway. I read it because I love Kait Nolan, but when I saw enemies to lovers, I wasn’t super excited. Luckily there was more to it than that. More complications, more history, more interesting. I love a marriage of convenience, and the possive “my wife” usage. I enjoyed it and this series and I’m already anxiously awaiting the next installment.

3 1/2 stars for the story, 5 stars for the narration. I just loved both narrators, and duet is my favorite way to listen to a book. The story itself wasn’t bad, pretty fast moving (almost an insta love situation), but I didn’t mind, and it wasn’t super long, which is nice during the holidays. I know I read one of the holiday books before this one, but I remember zero about it, so I didn’t know any back story of his family, but I still managed to follow along okay. Overall, enjoyable, especially if you go for the audio over ebook.

I’m a sucker for friends to lovers, so I knew there was no way I wouldn’t love this story. Throw in a marriage of convenience and family shenanigans and I’m hooked! My goodness it was everything and more. So much story, I don’t even know where to begin. It was much more emotional than I expected, not only with Addison opening up and sharing herself, but Luke as well. Some truly heartbreaking scenes that make you love these two, and this book even more for them. I laughed so many times, these brothers are so funny, and so relatable. This easily is one of the best books I’ve read this year.

I’m a series reader mostly, and I love all the possibilities when a new series kicks off. I love a good second chance romance. And when I say good, I mean for good reason. Kait Nolan does them well. There’s no annoying, unreasonable “thing” that splits them up or keeps them apart. I certainly recommend reading Hero After Midnight first (free prequal) and it’s not one of those prequals that’s just the first few chapters of Hero Ever After to make you interested. No, this is a fuller back story between Alia and Ramsey. This book was just so feel good. I smiled and wanted to shake my fist in the air with a “Yes!”, cheering them on. It’s not without its moments, heavier, sad, all of it. Just loved it and can’t wait for book 2.
I love Amy McFadden, I’ve listened to just about every Kair Nolan book that she’s narrated, plus a couple from other authors. I think she’s fantastic and not nearly mentioned enough. She was enough to get me to listen to this one, but thn when I heard the male narrator, I definitely need him to do more books! Sean Masters has an amazing voice, and I can’t believe I’ve never heard him before. Oh, I loved the story too, but these two narrators nailed it.

This is a new to me author so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I enjoyed the story and laughed more than I thought I would. There was a lot going on, once I got thru one part, I assumed the story was nearly over, but then there was a whole extra turn. Then when I got thru that, I expected the happy ending, another dilemma popped up. The downside for me was, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but too many bedroom scenes. I don’t know, they just got redundant after so many, I skimmed the last couple. I started reading the first book in this multi author series, but haven’t finished. I’m happy to say I didn’t feel like I missed anything by not reading it before this one. I’m really hoping this is setting up a good story for Ethan though soon!

Enemies to lovers isn’t my favorite, but I’ve read many books by this author, and the whole series, so I was looking forward to this even though it’s not one of my preferred tropes. I loved getting Fabiana’s story! She’s been involved so much, but we knew nothing of who she was. I also appreciated that even though it’s a clean romance, it was also one bed, and had plenty of chemistry. I believe this is the first clean one bed romance I’ve ever come across. All in all, quite enjoyable.

Loved this story! Chelle Sloan can write amazing wit and banter and chemistry, I just love her books. Kat was such a great character, I can’t say enough good things about her, about Grayson, about all the crazy turns this story took. I loved every single word, I laughed so many times, and I was shocked to get a bit misty there for a second. Another fantastic holiday book!
And let me just add, since Chelle Sloan is one of my favorite authors, you should join her Facebook group, because I’m she’ll be telling her story about her fued with a former Hallmark actress. Hence, the hilarious dig she snuck into this story.
