Bootleg Springs by Lucy Score and Claire Kingsley

I’ve been on a Lucy Score kick since I found a couple of her Christmas books last year. I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this series as much as I loved the Blue Moon series, but I did. It’s different, but just as much fun. This is a 6 book series co-written by Claire Kingsley, who I have not read before. This series was different in that there was a mystery that went along through each book. I loved the different tropes you get from each of the books (opposites attract, friends to lovers, all kinds of fun) but the crime/mystery aspect was so good! All of the books are available in Kindle Unlimited, and it’s so worth the borrows. If they put it in a box set, even better, because once you start, you’ll *need* to know how it all ends.

Kate Canterbary

I have to admit, I read this series totally out of order on accident. I read boss in the bedsheets first, thinking it was a total stand, alone. Then I came across the Belle and the beard, and didn’t realize until I finished that, that it was book 3 in the series. So then I came back to this one. It spoiled this book some for me, knowing who Magnolia ended up with, but it was still an entertaining read. And yes, Magnolia dates 2 guys at once. I think I’ve only read a couple of books like this before, but I enjoyed this a lot. It’s not a reverse Harum situation, it’s not that kinky, don’t let that scare you. But it’s fun, and funny, and I really wish I would have read this series in order!

I read Boss in the Bedsheets, unfortunately I read that one forst, a while ago, and Amazon still has my reviews locked up, so I can’t copy that one to here. I can’t remember enough of it to throw something down, except I remember it was hilarious, and even though work place romance isn’t my favorite, I enjoyed it. Now that I’ve read books 1 and 3, I’m very tempted to grab it and reread it.

The Belle and the Beard: I really struggled to get into this one, which bums me out now that I’ve gone back and read book 1. I feel like I should have liked it more. I started and stopped it a couple of times. I don’t even know why I powered thru (and the time I hadn’t read book 1, so I didn’t really have any completest attitude) It was pretty long, and Jasper (and the name, ugh, that was annoying for me for some reason) was really hard to like through most of the book. I liked Linden and his family a lot though. There was a scene that really surprised me about Linden that felt totally downplayed to me, and I dont know, felt weird to me that it wasnt a shocker or anything with Jasper, like I would assume it would be with most couples. I dont want to give it away, but it made me do a double take. When I got to the end I discovered that it was the 3rd book in the series, and I had actually read book 2, but I did not remember or realize that book was about Linden’s brother Ash. I do remember enjoying Boss more than this one from the get go. I laughed more. Clearly me not realizing I had read the book before this means it works perfectly well as a stand alone. But i would 100% recommend starting from the Magnolia Chronicles.

A mixed review of the series, I know, I just can’t say I loved (book 3), but didn’t hate it either. There was some good stuff to it, the conversation Jasper had with her mom, and the last list she made, but it was a lot of just stuff to get to that point. Overall the 3 books as a whole were worth reading. They’re on Kindle Unlimited, so give them a shot. Maybe I missed something on Beard that you’ll appreciate more. Heck, maybe I’ll go back and read it again after I reread Boss.

When Morning Comes

I read this one when it first came out and just loved it, and right now it’s on sale for just .99. Below is an excerpt.

“We’re ready to take you to ultrasound.”
I eye her with suspicion, wondering if she knows. When I step into the hall, I look to my right and make incredibly awkward eye contact with Nathan.
He knows.
The pink hue coloring his cheeks is a tell. He must have heard the entire thing. Kill me now.
Only after the nurse leaves us in the dark room to once again shuck my pants does Nathan break the silence.
“Do you want to tell me what happened in there?” His back is turned to give me some privacy, a vein of humor in his tone.
“Nope.” I clamber on the table and rustle the flimsy paper sheet to let him know I’m covered. He joins me at the side of the bed.
“Because it sounded to me like she gave you an or—”
“Don’t you dare,” I snarl beneath my breath, aware someone could be lurking directly outside the door. “Don’t even think about saying it.”
Nathan rolls pillowed lips between his teeth. “Can I say that I’m jealous it wasn’t me giving it to you?”
“Ugh, don’t say things like that.” I conceal my face with both arms but peek through the gap. “I’m about to have a probe the size of a good 🍆 shoved inside me, and if I come again, I will literally die.”
Fascination rearranges his features. “Are you really?”
“Shut up. Pinch me or something.”
Nathan encircles my elbow and yanks my arm. “What do you think the tech would do if she walked in on me banging you in the stirrups?”
I bare my teeth. “You. Are. Not. Helping.”
He grins an adorable, dimpled grin and leans over to deliver a peck on my downturned mouth. “I couldn’t help it. Don’t worry, I’ll be on my best behavior.”
“Please.” The heat in my cheeks recedes some.
The tech enters the room and starts the show. The probe isn’t as big as my earlier exaggerated statement, but after what happened during a standard pelvic exam, I can’t anticipate anything to go as expected.
“Are you two ready to see your baby?”

Me and the Sweet Snowstorm (Sweet, Small Town Romantic Comedy in Good Grief, Idaho, Book 4) by Jessie Gussman – BookBub

https://www.bookbub.com/books/me-and-the-sweet-snowstorm-sweet-small-town-romantic-comedy-in-good-grief-idaho-book-4-by-jessie-gussman

I’m trying to use Bookbub and Goodreads more, especially now since Amazon locked me out of reviewing. This is a new release today, and all the books are available in Kindle Unlimited. Jessie Gussman is a clean romance writer, and the majority of her books have a religious and/or old fashioned tone to them. It’s not something I exclusively read (obviously, if you’ve seen my other recommendations) but I enjoy them quite a bit. This has been a cute series, more in the romantic comedy category than most of her other books. None of them are too terribly long, so they’re easy to binge read.

Happily Letter After

This is my first book by these authors (Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward) and Andi Arndt as a narrator, and I loved every second of it! This is one of the books with Kindle Unlimited that gives you the audio for free. The story was so good, pretty unbelievable but very addicting. If you love fate stories, this is it. You know the ones, where theres all these little things that show the universe just wants something to happen. More than just a soul mate story. I was hooked right from the beginning. I laughed, I cried, I was sorry for it to end. It was really beautiful, heartwarming, heartbreaking, just adorable, plus the story has a loveable dog front and center.

Andi Arndt was amazing, it’s no wonder I’ve heard so much about her. She did wonderful with Birdie, really with all of it. She could have done the whole book herself and it would have been just as enjoyable. I’m searching now for more books by these two because I enjoyed this one so much. I honestly might end up listening again before my KU subscription expires.

Bloom of Love by Erin Wright

This new book just released yesterday, and I decided not to share the link itself, because Amazon is being a brat and put me in review jail, so until I get it straightened out, I’m throwing a fit and not promoting them. This book is wide, meaning not an Amazon exclusive. So feel free to purchase anywhere else! I just finished reading it, and I did enjoy it, however there was a ton of reference to the movie Princess Bride, and since I’ve never seen it, I think I missed a whole lot that others might appreciate. Carla has made an appearance in many Long Valley books as the owner of the local flower shop Happy Petal (which is just an adorable name). So it was fun to finally have her get her own story. I loved that both she and Christian thought the other was out of their league, it made for some cute internal dialog. I’ve never been let down by an Erin Wright book before, and like many authors, she writes in one world, so even though she has several series, they’re all connected somehow.

I own a couple of these books already but haven’t gotten around to reading them yet. So I can’t recommend how good these are, but box sets aren’t free everyday, so no harm, no foul to grab this set. You can always report back in the comments, let me know!

Tattered: An Everyday Heroes Novel (The Everyday Heroes World) – Kindle edition by Mykel, Mignon, Worlds, KB. Literature & Fiction Kindle eBooks @ Amazon.com.

https://www.amazon.com/Tattered-Everyday-Heroes-Novel-World-ebook/dp/B08JKQMRGJ

Busy release day! This is the second book from Mignon Mykel in the Everyday Heros world. I knew I’d want to read this when I finished the last book, Trust, the set up for it was definitely a wow moment. This didn’t dissapoint the hype. Giovanni was such a great character, more than I expected him to be. It covers a serious topic and may be hard for some people. It’s emotional but so worth the read. It was so addicting I read it in one sitting. Another Kindle Unlimited book, or buy your copy today.
