Jersey Six

Oh this book! Serious book hangover type of story. First, where the title comes from just breaks your heart. There is just so much going on in this story, it’s addicting, a page turner, just amazing. It seriously might just be the best book I’ve read this year. It’s romantic suspense, which is not my normal read, but I love Jewel E Ann, so I dove in without a clue as to what this book was about. You don’t want to read too much about it, because trust me, you do not want the plot spoiled at all. This book just goes to unbelievable places, and I was literally on the edge of my seat reading this! Don’t start it before bed because you will not sleep! It was so good, as soon as I finished it, I wanted to start it over and read it again with the eyes that knew what was going to happen. This will for sure be getting read again. I need to digest it a little first though. Its not all serious, there were cute moments, serious ones, sad, sweet, sexy, you name it. But seriously, don’t hesitate. Kindle unlimited is a wonderful thing, but you might just read it there and choose to buy it, just to read again. It’s really that good

How much do you read?

I know I’m obsessive, but how much do readers read? I know there are different levels of reading, casual, sparse, what have you. I sort of consider myself a professional reader. I sign up for so many ARCS that I rarely pick a book just for fun. Not that I don’t like what I read, because I pick and choose most of it, but most of the books I read are what’s due next. I actually have to keep a list to keep track so I make sure I read in order by their due date and don’t miss anything. Sometimes I over book myself and fall behind. An average day I can read 1 book per day. Like I said, obsessive! I’m trying to slow down though because too many times I’ve overextended myself and fall behind. I enjoy it, but I call my reviews homework. Believe me though, I enjoy reading way more than schoolwork, and don’t know how I’d get through a work day without my kindle or a book. But I need to slow it down and choose more of my reading based on what I want to read again, rather than what I need to read. It’s just the dilemma of where to draw the line! Or learn to get paid for it. So back to my original thought, how much does the average person read?

One Hundred Goodbyes

The latest installment of the Aspen Cove series is now available! I love the series, and I liked this one a lot. Part of it was a shocker, part of it was predictable, but it was still addicting. I loved that Doc Parker had a decent part in this one. I think he’s been in every single book, some more than others. I really liked Thomas, I mean, he moved a bit quick, sort of (read it and you’ll understand) but he’s just a good guy, like genuinely good. Also, the end if this sets up the next book, and holy cow I CANNOT WAIT! Here’s your hint, Rachel’s grand entrance from Friends.

Just One Of The Groomsmen by Cindi Madsen

First of all, I’m terrible with trying to keep up with this! I’ve read so many books since I posted last, it’s ridiculous. The most recent that I’ve really loved is Just One of the Groomsmen. Friends to lovers. One of my favorite romance tropes. When my husband and I first met, I just wanted to be friends with him. Which, in my mind, we were for a whole summer. Then something changed and we became a couple. Looking back though, we were probably a couple that whole summer. A couple that doesn’t kiss or any of that fun stuff! So friends to lovers always has a spot in my heart that reminds me of the early days of our relationship. However, most friends to lovers books, the couple is usually friends since childhood, or at least a significant number of years. Sometimes one person wants more but is afraid to ask, sometimes it’s both! Then sometimes it hits them out of the blue. I won’t tell you which this one is, because I really don’t like to give any spoilers, and I really enjoyed this book. There was such a build up, and there’s a great cast of characters that really gets you invested in the whole thing. I got an advanced copy that I finished up last week, but I believe it releases May 28th, and it’s so worth checking out. Especially if you love small towns! That is always an element in itself, the small town aspect where everyone knows everyone else and their business – so much fun for the reader!

Meghan Quinn

Meghan Quinn is one of my go to authors. Whenever I sign up for Kindle Unlimited, I read a couple more of her books. I haven’t read them all yet but am working on it. If you’ve read Two Wedding Crashers (which was one of the first of her books I read) you’ll see some familiar people and places here, which I love. It’s like a little reward for those that read her books. I was able to get my hands on an advanced copy of this book, and I finished it this weekend. Absolutely loved it! I totally fell in love with Griffin and all of his brothers. As much as I hated coming to the end of this book, it makes me look forward to each of the next chapters of this series. Seriously, if you’ve never done Unlimited before, Meghan Quinn alone is worth trying it out for a month. I believe all of her stuff is in there. You could spend a long time just catching up on her catalog and it would be totally worth it. I love her. She does such a good job with humor and romance, and her sex scenes are good, not overly graphic, just the right amount of heat. Check her out

Tessa Layne

Although she normally writes Cowboy stories, she ventured into this series about winemaking brothers. Mr. White, Mr. Pink and most recently Mr Red. It’s interesting because she is one of the authors that writes in one world. So although this is a departure from Cowboys, there are still connecting factors to her previous series. She has quite a few books out now, but like I said most of them are Cowboy related. A Prairie Heat I believe was the first, and then a Hero’s Honor, (it might be free right now on Amazon), it’s not the second book of the Prairie series, but it’s a connected series with the same town and a lot if the same characters . She’s got several sub-series within Prairie, Kansas. But anyway, I had a whole long post already made out and it disappeared on me. So this is going to be a little bit shorter. But I still wanted to get this out there.

J.E. Parker

I seriously CANNOT wait for this book! This is such an emotional series, but she somehow sneaks in enough humor to keep you from falling into the black hole. The character of Grandmama brings it every single time. She’s hands down her readers favorite. The series starts with childhood neighbors Hendrix and Maddie in Every Moment With You, and branches out in each book to a friend or family member of this little, disfunctional, pieced together, makeshift family. There’s comedy, tragedy, abuse, breakups, deaths, marriages, babies, and most importantly – love. Everyone gets a happy ending, but the ride they go on to get there is almost too much. These are also currently available on Kindle Unlimited, and I HIGHLY recommend them all, best of course read in order.

Small town romance

I think I’ve mentioned this series before- Kelly Collins, the One Hundred Series, set in little Aspen Cove. The latest book just released, and I believe all of her books are available on Kindle Unlimited. Perfect series to binge read (even though I hate the whole “binge ” phrase, I haven’t come up with a better alternative, I mean, binge eating is bad, so it makes the word sound dirty almost, but reading is good, so doing it more shouldn’t sound bad, right? ). Anyway, I know I haven’t posted in a while, I’m back to working my real job, since I’ve yet to succeed in getting paid to read all day. I have been reading though, just not as much. This is one I’ve recently finished. Enjoy!
