Unbelievably, another Lydia Michaels book is free today. This one is a Christmas book, which I won’t read for a few more months yet, but I definitely snagged it. I’ve read a lot of her books, but haven’t read this one yet, so I can’t brag about how good it is, but hey, it’s free!

This one took me a long time to get into. I really didn’t like Emily much at the beginning. She seemed immature and selfish. The way she felt about her parents felt wrong to me. Her actions kinda ticked me off. I liked Braden all along, he kept me going. I should add the I have not read this whole series, just the one book previously. Not sure why I hadn’t kept up with all of them. Thank goodness the turning point came and I finally found Emily likable. I went from thinking I’d rate this 3 stars as just okay, to a 4 star review. I’m sure this review isn’t really selling it, but this one just wasn’t a favorite of mine, but it’s well written, and I can totally see how others will love it. I love the way it all turned out, so I’m glad I didn’t call it quits, but now I really need to go back to the beginning!

Yet another Lydia Michaels book for free! Not sure what’s happening, but take advantage. This is from the Jasper Falls series, both books 1 and 6 are currently free. Gah! I loved this story! It’s so fun, and it introduces so many potential stories, I can’t wait for them all. The scene in the baby store – epic! Oh, and give yourself the time, because once you hit the LA game, you won’t want to stop. Kitty and Phyllis are amazing and made me laugh at every turn. I seriously don’t even know how many times I laughed out loud. Maddox is such a puppy dog, adorable, lovable character, you can’t help but love him from the very beginning. Also, if you’ve read Chelle Sloan before, you get a great cameo from Simon. Such a great book one to a series, I absolutely loved it!

I just listened to the audio, and loved this story all over again. Perfect to listen again with book 2 coming out soon. Both narrators worked for this one, I’m not sure I’ve ever listened to the female (Meg Price) but I would definitely listen to her again.

4 1/2 stars. I didn’t realize that this was book 3 when I picked it up. I figured it out a little while in that I was missing some back story of some of the other characters, but I was okay with it since I read out of order. I’ll definitely be going back for books 1 and 2 because I really enjoyed this one. I wish we didn’t have to wait quite so long to get Tad’s full history, but I enjoyed the story. There was some funny moments to balance out some of the heavy stuff, it all worked together.
