I’m a series reader mostly, and I love all the possibilities when a new series kicks off. I love a good second chance romance. And when I say good, I mean for good reason. Kait Nolan does them well. There’s no annoying, unreasonable “thing” that splits them up or keeps them apart. I certainly recommend reading Hero After Midnight first (free prequal) and it’s not one of those prequals that’s just the first few chapters of Hero Ever After to make you interested. No, this is a fuller back story between Alia and Ramsey. This book was just so feel good. I smiled and wanted to shake my fist in the air with a “Yes!”, cheering them on. It’s not without its moments, heavier, sad, all of it. Just loved it and can’t wait for book 2.

I thought a part of this story was going to be super predictable (Which I was totally fine with), but it wasnt! I liked how it overlapped in time from the first book, but didn’t give anything away. I also liked how Cade was just a big teddy bear when it came down to it. Even though it moved pretty quick, I enjoyed the sweetness of the story.

Back to Maple Falls!
A multi-author series based around a fictional hockey team. All clean, and all interconnected.

I read most of the books from the first series (that came out in a similar fashion last year), so I was all in to read the second installment. This one was quirky, silly, and overall fun. The whole Phillip situation was amusing, I liked his part in keeping Ashlyn on her toes. I also liked the friendship first aspect. The whole premise was unrealistic, but it made it a more light, fluffy read.

I’ve read a few books from this author, but not the big series that this book is a part of. Although there were a bunch of characters, and clearly they had already had their stories previously, I enjoyed this book. I didn’t even try and keep the side characters straight of who was related to whom or how, I just enjoyed Wells and Victory for who they were. And darn it, I didn’t think it was going to make me so emotional! I thought Wells was so understanding and so sweet, I liked him a lot. And I really liked seeing how Victory evolved and realized, well, everything.

I just love how her books are so down to earth. Peachtree Pass is slower pace, but somehow not boring. I appreciated how much we still saw of Christine and Taggar from the previous book as well. The second half of the book definitely had more going on than the first half did, but the first half was no less enjoyable. It’s not flashy, but real and homey and just a really sweet love story.

I was disappointed to see that Kait Nolan came up with yet another pen name that I didn’t know about. The reason I was disappointed was because she released several books under that name before I found out! Here’s one of those books for free today. Of course I grabbed it immediately and can’t wait to fit it into my schedule.
