There is nothing like a damaged man that so many women think they can heal. Jase is clearly not what he seems, but much more than I expected. I love a marriage of convenience, but I also appreciated all the other relationships in this story. Between the band mates, family, all of it. I liked Hendrix immediately, and she was perfect for the job, and Jase. I read the first book in this series, but did not read Hawkin’s book, but didn’t feel lost at all having missed it.

I did not read book one of this series, (I actually did not finish when I tried reading it) but I’ve read and enjoyed this author before. Let me also say, I’ve never seen Princess Bride, so any references to that went over my head, and I still enjoyed this story.I was here for the trope. I like a pregnant lead, and the baby isn’t his and I don’t come across those as often as I’d like. I was pleasantly surprised that it was romantic suspense adjacent. I try not to know too much about a book before I start, so the ‘she was pregnant with another man’s baby’ was all I knew going in. I enjoyed this a lot. The narrators were both great, sounding good together in the duet style, which I love. I will be watching for the next book in the series that is setting up to be Hugo’s divorced sisters’ story. If you do audio, I definitely recommend this one. This was shorter than I expected, but it was definitely not lacking in anything! I cracked up laughing many times, and just hope you’re old enough, or know pop culture enough to find it as amusing as I did. Tate is a golden retriever hero if I ever read one, even though I’m not a fan of that term, it really fits him. Aurora, as soon as it hit me, my jaw dropped. Maybe others will pick it up quicker than me, but I’m slow. I actually loved these two together, and the age gap was easily forgotten. An Adriana Locke book wouldn’t be complete without fun, family text banter.

I haven’t had too many free books to share lately, but here’s one today. I actually just finished listening to this yesterday (free thru hoopla). I only listened because it was more convenient, but I am not an Erin Mallon fan, but I sucked it up because I didn’t want to miss this story. Believe me, I debated skipping it until I had time to read it.

This book kicks off the Bailey/ Greene next Gen series, so if you haven’t read those series yet, I recommend it. Especially because Calista and Rylan go way back to when they were kids.

I started the second book today, and it follows Savanna and Liam’s daughter Brynley.

4 1/2 stars because it had a slow start for me. And the beginning, I thought, ugh, not my kind of story, but I pressed on because I’ve enjoyed every other book of hers before. I’m glad I kept an open mind, because once Ruby’s history was revealed, it got much more interesting for me. I also loved seeing their friends Marcus and Lauren (and wouldn’t hate a novella about them), and the family dynamic each of them had. The bonus epiloge almost got me to shed a tear or two, it was so sweet and beautiful. I can’t wait for more in the series now.

This is my favorite Marika Ray book, and there’s a lot of them to compete with! I loved that there was not just Holt and Maple, but Gracie and Hank, it really kept me hooked. I loved how flawed Holt appeared, even though he really was so sweet, and I appreciated Maple being the black sheep of her family, even though she was successful, just not in a traditional sense. The back and forth of past and present worked perfectly to blend all the love stories together. This is a great summery book, and make sure you grab the bonus epilogue at the end.

So my Goodreads and Bookbub reviews need tweaking. I didn’t realize and thought this was a brand new series. When I pulled up Worth the Fight on Amazon, it said I already owned one of the books, but for the life of me, the title was not familiar at all. Turned out its Cuffed, Cockpit and Combust all being released!
I just loved this story. I loved the characters, both primary and all the supporting cast, so much. Grady was portrayed with such depth- at times, masking things seemingly well, yet struggling so hard others, and Dylan’s support on top of her own transformation was so enjoyable to see. I love the found family as well as the brothers. I cried a little, I laughed a little, there was all kinds of emotion going on. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

So good. So, so good. Quinn is a character that so many of us can see traits of ourselves in. She’s got such depth of character. She’s funny, sarcastic, and has amazing lines. Quick whitted, but also vulnerable, flawed, scared, and insecure. There are so many parts to this story. The beginning drops with no build-up -boom, we’re in the middle of it! Then what happens in Quinn’s career, her home life, and everything in between. I have so many things to say, but I refuse to spoil. Such hysterical lines, a movie reference that I was laughing about before I even finished reading the page, my mind when straight to the movie! I recommend turning your ticker off when you read it. You don’t want the distraction of the clock. I kept looking at it at different points, and my mind started to drift to where the book could be going. Don’t let yourself go there, trust in Chelle (and Dolly Parton) that she takes it in the exact perfect direction. Also, I wish I had taken note of all of Quinn’s pranks! I’ve written all of this and haven’t even mentioned Porter yet, Quinn is that fantastic of a character, I don’t even need to gush about him. If this is your first Chelle Sloan book, welcome to the club! If you’ve read her before, you don’t even need reviews, you already know how amazing she is.
