I’ve read a few books from this author, but not the big series that this book is a part of. Although there were a bunch of characters, and clearly they had already had their stories previously, I enjoyed this book. I didn’t even try and keep the side characters straight of who was related to whom or how, I just enjoyed Wells and Victory for who they were. And darn it, I didn’t think it was going to make me so emotional! I thought Wells was so understanding and so sweet, I liked him a lot. And I really liked seeing how Victory evolved and realized, well, everything.

I just love how her books are so down to earth. Peachtree Pass is slower pace, but somehow not boring. I appreciated how much we still saw of Christine and Taggar from the previous book as well. The second half of the book definitely had more going on than the first half did, but the first half was no less enjoyable. It’s not flashy, but real and homey and just a really sweet love story.

I was disappointed to see that Kait Nolan came up with yet another pen name that I didn’t know about. The reason I was disappointed was because she released several books under that name before I found out! Here’s one of those books for free today. To be honest, through most of the book, I was much more invested in what was going on with Poppy than I was about the romantic relationship. Not that I didn’t care, just that the other parts held my interest more. Watching Rocket as his world was flipped upside down. Watching how he took it all in. Finally, towards the end, I was rooting for Willow and Rocket to get their happy ending. There were so many sweet moments. And so many heartbreaking admissions. Definitely an emotional story all the way around. I really enjoyed it.

My gut when I saw the new cover was meh. But the book, and the series were really good. The title makes it sound taboo, but it’s really not that scary. Don’t be too afraid to check it out, especially for free.
